Cass Lawry public lecture

On June 6, Caucasus School of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted a linguist at the University of New York University (CUNY), Cass Lawry.

 

The guest delivered a lecture on "Bilingualism" to the first year students of the Bachelor's Program in English Philology. Among others, types of bilingualism, the essence of language and dialects, ways of bilingualism manifestation at different stages of an individual’s development were discussed. To illustrate, the lecturer presented audio-visual material reflecting Georgian-English bilingualism.

 

At the end of the lecture, an interesting discussion was held between the students and the American linguist, the moderator of which was an invited lecturer of the Caucasus University, Ms. Natia Putkaradze.
