Within the framework of the call for papers by Shota Rustaveli Georgian National Scientific Foundation: “National Grant for Scientific Research of Georgian Monuments of Material and Spiritual Culture in Georgia and Abroad, 2018” professor of Caucasus University Dr. Temur Khutsishvili and his team obtained funding for the project: “Printed and Online Catalogue of Georgian Cultural Monuments in the Historic Parts of Georgia – Speri, Baiburti and Lazeti (SPELABA)”
The aim of the project is to use every endeavor to discover and explore Georgian historic-architectural monuments and their remains in every village and their surroundings in the historic parts of Georgia – Speri, Baiburti and Lazeti. The exact location of the monuments shall be ascertained (GPS coordinates), their current state described and photographed, measurements taken and the obtained results published in bilingual online and printed catalogues. In Georgian and western scientific circulation shall be entered hundreds of Georgian cultural monuments currently located within Turkey. Thus, the existing catalogue under the Project 57/04 (4 volumes) will be added three more volumes of the Georgian monuments currently on the research territory.
