Prospectus and Colloquium Defense of the students of International Relations’ PHD Program

On July 30, Caucasus School of Governance held a prospectus and colloquium defense for PHD students of International Relations PHD program.

 

An official defense of prospectus and colloquium is a mandatory process of the PHD program in International Relations. In the framework of this process students get relevant written and oral feedback and recommendations, which help them develop their further research agendas.

 

Colloquium defense Commission members included:  – Dr. Sergi Kapanadze, invited professor, Dr. Eka Akobia, Dean, Associate Professor; Dr. Tornike Turmanidze, professor, Dr. Emir Eteria, Associate Professor; Dr. Davit Darchaishvili, Invited Lecturer. Commission also included invited member from Ilia State University Dr. Davit Darchiashvili with an advisory vote.

 

The following students presented their work:

 

  1. Mariam Kobulia, Colloquium II, “US foreign policy towards Libya and Syria during Obama presidency – 2011-2013”;
  2. Giorgi Goguadze Colloquium I – “Outflow of Georgian Citizens to Extremist groups operating in Syria and Iraq in 2013-2016”; Colloquium II – “Prevention of Violent Extremism: Literature Review”.

PHD students Tinatin Khidasheli presented the following prospectus - “Grand strategy of small states – Georgian case study in the light of comparative analysis”- to the commission.

 

PHD students received assessments, relevant feedbacks from field specialists and moved to the next stage of research.
