Student Program of Green School of Economics

On July 23, Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture and CENN held a solemn opening of the new student program - Green School of Economics in Bulachauri Green Center. The program aims to connect the university resources with the current national and international economic programs.

 

CENN, Environmental Information and Education Center, National Forestry Agency, Caucasus University and other partner universities have signed a memorandum of cooperation to support sustainable development and rural development strategies and the "Green School of Economics ". The event was attended by the Dean of Caucasus School of Business, Ms. Elene Jgharkava and the Dean of Caucasus School of Economics Mr. Ioseb Berikashvili.

 

The memorandum aims to support the public, civil and private cooperation to create - individual and joint opportunities for the future, to promote research and training university program - "Green Economy" – and to allow the participating students to develop sustainable forest management business models based on the stable forest management principles and meeting current market requirements.

 

Students, rectors and invited guests from various universities were addressed by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Mr. Gela Khanishvili, who focused on the financing opportunities for participating students in the frames of small businesses and initiatives for local economic development.

 

The organizer of "Green School of Economics" program is CENN, Environmental NGO - Green Economy Ambassador in the South Caucasus. The initiative is implemented in the framework of the project - Forest Sustainable Management for Rural Development with financial support from Austrian Cooperation for Developmental.
