First national meeting of the consortium of European commission-funded Erasmus + Institutional Development Project: “Responsible Conduct of Research – Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities”
On March 1, 2023, the first national meeting of the consortium of European commission-funded Erasmus + Institutional Development Project: “Responsible Conduct of Research – Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities” (ETHICS) was held at Ilia State University.
The event was attended by Akaki Kapanadze, director of the Project Management Department of the Caucasus University, representatives of the Georgian higher educational institutions of the project consortium, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Shota Rustaveli National foundation of Georgia and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
The goal of the meeting was to discuss in detail the work packages of the funded project for The Georgian partners, the role and plans of each partner, as well as to present the administrative and financial regulations of the grant management established by European commission.
The project unites 10 Georgian and 4 European universities, and its goal is to improve the existing mechanisms of research reliability and integrity. Alongside to developing an innovative research integrity system, the goals provided by the project will play an important role both in the prevention of unoriginal academic works and the development of authentic research practices towards increasing the competitiveness of Georgian universities, both in Georgia and abroad.
