On February 28, 2024, the Jean Monnet Information Day was held in Tbilisi, organized by Erasmus+ Georgian National Office.
The event was held in both face-to-face and remote formats. Officials of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the National Center for the Education Quality Enhancement, the Executive Agency for European Education and Culture of the European Commission, the representative of the EU Delegation to Georgia and the academicians/scientists implementing of Jean Monnet Actions in Georgia gathered at the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
Ms. Mariam Sulashvili, Head of Erasmus+ Georgian National Office, Teimuraz Dochvir, General Director of the Foundation, Kakha Khandolishvili, Head of the Department of International Relations and Strategic Development of the Ministry, Lasha Margishvili, Director of the Center, Edith Gensher, Program Coordinator of the EACEA, Katalin Gherman, representative of the EU delegation delivered speeches.
Prof. Ekaterine Kardava of Gori State University and the Caucasus University, Prof. Guranda Chelidze of the Caucasus University, Prof. Korneli Kakachia of the TSU and Prof. Giorgi Gvalia of the Ilia State University shared the experience of implementing Jean Monnet Actions, namely the module and chair.
Questions were asked from the listeners gathered in the fund office, as well as remotely. The speakers talked about the content, practical, procedural, financial and technical aspects of the elaboration and submission of Jean Monnet projects. They also shared and informed the public about the activities, goals, objectives of projects coordinated by them. They talked about the steps to strengthen EU Studies in Georgia and the needs of close cooperation of Jean Monnet academia.
