SECURE Erasmus+ Project – Progress Meeting in Lithuania

From July 2–4, 2025, the consortium of the Erasmus+ SECURE project convened at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania, for a formal progress meeting. The objective of the event was to assess the current status of the project, align strategic directions, and define the roadmap for upcoming activities.

 

The SECURE project aims to enhance cybersecurity expertise and academic infrastructure in Ukraine and Georgia through curriculum development, professional training, and institutional collaboration.

 

Key Outcomes of the Meeting Included:

 

  • The final review and validation of four newly developed and innovative courses;
  • Detailed discussions on the establishment of the Innovative Educational and Research Hub, including the creation of three interconnected Virtual Laboratories in each participating country, focused on 5G and next-generation network technologies;
  • The development of a structured roadmap for the training and professional development of academic and administrative staff, outlining task allocation, interdependencies, milestones, and expected deliverables;
  • A review of the outcomes and impact of project dissemination and outreach activities, and planning of future communication strategies.

 

This meeting marked an important milestone in ensuring the successful implementation of project objectives and fostering sustainable regional collaboration in the field of cybersecurity education.

 

Georgia was represented by three participating institutions:

 

  • Caucasus University – Lead institution from Georgia;
  • Akaki Tsereteli State University – Kutaisi;
  • Shota Rustaveli State University – Batumi;

 

The delegation from Caucasus University, as the lead partner from Georgia, included:

Prof. Maksim Iavich - Regional Project Lead and Director of the Caucasus Cyber Security Center; Project manager Oksana Kovalchuk; CU associate professor of cyber security - Giorgi Akhalaia and director of Project management department - Akaki Kapanadze.
