The French-Georgian University, in collaboration with the French Institute of Georgia, is announcing a three-month scholarship competition for Georgian PhD students studying at a Georgian higher education or research institution.
The scholarship is intended to fund research in France within the frames of the French higher education and research institute.
The scholarship (€ 2610 for a three-month period) covers all or parts of the travel and living expenses. The scholarship program will be implemented in 2020.
The scholarship will be transferred by Campus France, which provides administrative assistance to each PhD candidate. All students will be admitted to Campus France for Social Security (which includes "civil liability") for a three-month stay in France.
Contestants must submit a dossier containing the following documents:
- Properly completed "Candidate Resume" and "Candidate Research Project" (see attached document)
- A written presentation of a maximum of 6000 words, covering the following: 1) The main topic of the PhD dissertation, its problems and its course. 2) the research project that will be carried out in France and its main objectives. 3) conditions required for the project (host team, other target institutions, etc.) and its importance and value for the dissertation project.
- Letter of invitation from a French scientific institution, that will receive a Georgian PhD student in their team for three months.
- Copy of passport (passport must be valid within 6 months after the end of the scholarship program in France).
The dossiers must be in French or English. The assessment will depend on its scientific quality and relevance to travel to France to carry out a research project. Knowledge of French will be an advantage.
Interested applicants should send their dossiers to the coordinator of the French-Georgian University, David Terre, at david.teurtrie@fgu.ge
The application deadline is April 10, 2020. Students will be notified of the final decision no later than April 30, 2020.
Departure to France is from May 15 to October 1, 2020.
Good luck!
