On June 13–15, 2026, the program “Impactful Leadership for Rectors & University Executives” was held at Almaty Management University in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The program was designed for university presidents, rectors, vice-rectors, and senior management representatives from the Central Asia region. The event was organized in partnership with the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and Higher Education Strategy Associates.
The program aimed to provide university leaders with an opportunity to exchange experience on contemporary challenges in higher education, institutional transformation, strategic governance, and strengthening the social impact of universities. During the program, participants worked on real institutional challenges, discussed modern approaches to leadership, and explored practical solutions for university development.
Within the framework of the program, the President of Caucasus University, Kakha Shengelia, participated as a speaker in the session “Leadership Conversation: Personal Leadership of the Rector.”
The session focused on the importance of the rector’s personal leadership in modern university governance, the leader’s responsibility toward the future of the university and the academic community, as well as the role of servant leadership in the process of institutional development.
Kakha Shengelia shared his experience with the participants in the areas of university management, international development, institutional sustainability, and leadership.
