Caucasus School of Medicine and Healthcare Professor Tengiz Verulava co-authored a paper „Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction After Myocardial Infarction" in the international scientific peer-reviewed journal „Gazi Medical Journal".
The journal is indexed in Scopus (Elsevier) International Science Database.
The work was performed at Caucasus University and Acad. Ch. As a result of scientific-research cooperation with Chapidze Emergency Cardiology Center.
Description of the research:
The case of left ventricular systolic dysfunction after myocardial infarction. A 76-year-old woman was treated at the Chapidze Emergency Cardiology Center with a diagnosis of ischemic heart disease and acute subendocardial myocardial infarction. Sinus bradycardia and the prolongation of diastole, due to myocardial ischemia, resulted in left ventricular overload. It was decided to transplant a cardioverter-defibrillator, which proved to be successful.
