On May 21, the Medical Club at Caucasus University held its debut event — a public lecture on “Breast Cancer.”
The event was opened by Lizi Kenchadze, head of the Medical Club, who introduced the club’s vision and outlined its future goals.
The lecture was delivered by Tornike Gakhokidze, a soft tissue surgeon, who spoke in depth about the topic. The public lecture was dedicated to breast cancer, which is one of the most common cancers in women in Georgia and around the world. Mr. Gakhokidze covered key topics such as the mechanisms of breast cancer development, early warning signs, modern diagnostic tools, and surgical treatment methods.
This topic is especially important, as breast cancer detected at an early stage is characterized by much higher treatment effectiveness. Raising awareness contributes to both prevention and early detection, which ultimately dramatically increases survival and reduces the risk of complications.
