Effective doctor-patient communication is an important issue in medicine, because it has a great impact on the correct diagnosis of the disease, the outcome of treatment, patient satisfaction and the quality of medical services. The purpose of the study was to reveal the main barriers to effective communication between patients and family physicians. Research has shown that active communication between family physicians and patients stimulates patients' motivation and self-confidence, which positively affects their treatment. Special attention should be paid to effective communication with patients whose engagement in treatment is low.
