On May 4-6, the VI International Congress of the Platform of International Eastern European Studies "City and Civilization in Eastern Europe" was held at Sinop University.
Guranda Chelidze, professor of Caucasus School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Doctor of History, took part in the work of the VI Congress with a report "Georgia in the works of French travelers". Elisabet Machitidze, associate professor of Caucasus School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Doctor of History, participated online and presented the paper "Evlia Chelebi's reports about Tbilisi".
It should be noted that the research topics of each (PIEES) congress will concern the historical processes taking place in Eastern European countries and are conducted at the international level in cooperation with universities of different countries.
The composition of the scientific advisory committee of the (PIEES) Congress was expanded this year. Prof. Guranda Chelidze was elected as its member. According to the future plan, the next congress will be held in cooperation with Georgia and Caucasus University.
