World Mental Health Day at Caucasus University

In honor of World Mental Health Day, a public lecture was organized at Caucasus University on October 10.

 

The lecture explored the topic of 'Stress from a Neuroscience Perspective, Work-related Stress, and Effective Coping Mechanisms' and was presented by Maia Machavariani-Tsereteli, a Doctor of Neuropsychology and Associate Professor at Caucasus University, and Tamar Kobuladze, a Doctor of Work and Organizational Psychology and Associate Professor at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University.

 

The lecture covered various topics, including the processes caused by stress and their effects on brain function, the specifics of work-related stress, potential of intervention and prevention.

 

This year's theme of World Mental Health Day is "Mental health is a universal human right".

 

Caucasus University celebrates World Mental Health Day within the framework of the ERASMUS+ CBHE institutional development project "Establishment of Psychological Counseling Centers at Georgian HEIs for Students (E-PSY)" funded by the European Union. The goal of the project is to set up psychological counseling centers for students within Georgia's higher educational institutions, including Caucasus University and to emphasize the importance of psychological counseling for students.
