International Conference “EU Enlargement: Practices and Challenges”

On October 9-10, Caucasus University will host the international scientific conference “EU Enlargement: Practices and Challenges.”

 

The conference is organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Chair “European Union for Peace, Prosperity and Security” (EU-PPS), in collaboration with the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Caucasus University and is co-funded by the European Union.

 

The conference will mark the opening of Caucasus University’s Scientific Week 2026, bringing together researchers and academics from across Europe and the wider region. Scholars from Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Germany, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Türkiye, and Armenia will participate in the conference.

 

The conference will explore key contemporary issues surrounding the EU enlargement process, with particular attention on:

 

  • the rule of law and democratic governance;
  • security and geopolitical challenges;
  • the role of education in European integration;
  • European values and identity;
  • the European perspectives of Georgia, Moldova, and Armenia.

The conference program will also include thematic parallel sessions, “Law, Politics and Governance” and “Education, Society and Culture,” as well as a Georgian-language session and an international online session, which will be open to all interested participants.

 

The conference will foster international academic exchange and collaboration, providing a platform for researchers to share their findings and engage in scholarly discussion on the contemporary challenges and dynamics of EU enlargement.
