Workshop for applicants - Social Engineering Attacks, Techniques, and Prevention Methods

21 November 2024

On November 28, at 16:00, in the C1 auditorium of the Caucasus University, a workshop will be held for applicants interested in cybersecurity on the topic: Social Engineering Attacks, Techniques, and Prevention Methods.

The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Abdullah Alhayajneh, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity and Co-Chair of the Professional Security Studies Department at New Jersey City University.

Social engineering is an umbrella term for methods of attacks that cyber criminals use, which rely heavily on human interaction. These attacks often involve manipulating victims into breaking security practices and having them provide confidential information that may be used for fraudulent purposes.

This workshop is designed to address, analyze, and discuss relevant social engineering attacks, types, and techniques of social engineering, as well as prevention methods.

Dr. Abdullah Alhayajneh’s research focuses on IoT Privacy and Security, Wireless Security, Network Security, WBAN Security, and Biometric Authentication.

Dr. Alhayajneh has published in several peer-reviewed journals and presented at several IEEE Conferences on Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing Technology. Dr. Alhayajneh has over seventeen years of experience in Security and Information Technology in both academia and industry. After several years of working for the United Nations, he became the Data Reporting and Information Technology supervisor for South Asia and lead the IT missions in the Middle East and North Asia for the United Nations.

The event will be held in English.
