From May 12 to 16, 2025, an international study visit was held in Salzburg, Austria, within the framework of the PROVE (“Promoting Values Education in South Caucasus Higher Education Institutions”) project.

The event brought together representatives of consortium partner universities and organizations from Georgia, Armenia, Greece, and Austria. From Caucasus University part, Aluda Goglichidze – Dean of Caucasus School of Education participated in the visit.

The study visit included an intensive training on the VaKE (Values and Knowledge Education) methodology. The sessions took place at the CK21 Training Center and consisted of theoretical lectures and practical exercises combined with a study visit in the Peace Office, Salzburg. Some time was also devoted to the Consortium Meeting to discuss organizational issues.

The visit began with a review of the activities and outcomes achieved during the project’s preparatory phase. This was followed by an analysis of institutional needs, helping to mark the transition of the project into its next phase of development.

Throughout the week, participants explored the theoretical foundations of VaKE from the perspective of values-based education and constructivist approaches, as well as practical models and dilemma-based teaching methods. Participants worked in country-based groups to draft initial  VaKE -based lesson plans according to their institutional needs.

At the end of the study visit, participants visited Friedensbüro Salzburg (Office for Peace) — an organization actively engaged in peace and values education both locally and internationally.

The PROVE project aims to integrate values education into various academic programs while deepening cooperation between partner universities throughout the implementation process.
