On May 29-30, 2026, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the international conference “EU Integration Perspectives of the Candidate Countries”, organized within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair “Closer to the EU” (CEU). The conference brought together professors, researchers, and experts from 18 universities across 6 countries.
At the conference, Professor Guranda Tchelidze of Caucasus University and the Jean Monnet Chair “European Union for Peace, Prosperity and Security” (EU-PPS) presented a paper entitled “Consumer Protection in Georgia: Progress and Challenges under the European Union Enlargement Package (2023-2025)”.
The presentation was based on research conducted within the framework of the EU-PPS project and examined the achievements and challenges in the field of consumer protection in the context of Georgia’s legal and institutional approximation to the European Union.
The conference also served as an important platform for strengthening cooperation between the Jean Monnet Chair “European Union for Peace, Prosperity and Security” (EU-PPS) at Caucasus University and the Jean Monnet Chair “Closer to the European Union” (CEU) at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Such academic initiatives contribute to the advancement of European Union studies, the exchange of knowledge and expertise, the strengthening of international partnerships, and the creation of new opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme.
