Caucasus University Jean Monnet Center of Excellence for EU Policy Transposition (EUPOLTRANS) published a collection of research articles about EU-Georgia policies. These policies are covered by the Association Agreement and represent important EU acquis for the accession process as well.
The research articles cover seven policy areas: general institutional relations between the EU and Georgia, public administration and governance, EU common foreign and security policy, labor law, environmental policy, and consumer protection and competition policy.
The research takes stock of three yearlong activities of the Jean Monnet CoE EUPOLTRANS in teaching, policy discussions, and research on Georgia’s EU integration. Research was preceded by trainings (2022-2024), expert interviews (2023), discussion briefs (2023), and policy dialogues with EU experts (2022-2023).
Research goals of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence EUPOLTRANS were to promote research and deliver outputs on EU Policies and their transposition to: a) strengthen Caucasus University research output; b) contribute scholarly knowledge to the ongoing process of policy-making on EU integration; c) raise awareness about the European Union policies, focusing on EU values, and promote active citizenship and democratic participation in this crucial policy area for Georgia: EU integration.
Research articles provide an in-depth review of EU-Georgia relations in seven policy areas, assessing the progress made, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. The studies are multifaceted and evidence-based and provide information to the general public about the EU integration process as well as present an important basis for future academic research.
