Kick-off Meeting for NATO SPS Project "Post-quantum Digital Signature using Verkle Trees"

20 January 2025

On January 10, 2025, the kick-off meeting for the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Project "Post-quantum Digital Signature using Verkle Trees" took place. This project aims to address the emerging challenges of post-quantum cryptography by pioneering a digital signature system utilizing the innovative Verkle tree construction. This novel approach significantly reduces proof sizes, thereby enhancing both security and computational efficiency.

Furthermore, the project explores the integration of a pseudo-random number generator, leveraging a quantum random number generator for enhanced robustness.

Project Partners:

- Caucasus University (Partner country Project Director: Professor Maksim Iavich)

- Transilvania University of Brașov (NATO country Project Director: Professor Razvan Bocu)

During the meeting, participants discussed various organizational and administrative aspects, preliminary plans for scientific activities, and strategies for disseminating the project's findings.

The meeting was attended by project team members from both Caucasus University and Transilvania University of Brașov, as well as representatives from the NATO office. Their participation underscores the collaborative effort and shared dedication to advancing the frontiers of post-quantum cryptography through this innovative project.
