On November 21-26, within the framework of the Erasmus + project, - Strengthening the Quality and Relevance of the Third Mission in Georgian Universities - SQUARE”, University of Turku hosted Georgian partners. From Caucasus University, Director of Projects Management Department, Akaki Kapanadze participated in the meetings.
Within the framework of the visit, the representatives of the University of Turku shared information with the Georgian partners about the visions of the University of Turku regarding the concept of an Entrepreneurial University, as well as regarding the collaboration between the faculties of the University of Turku within the framework of the third mission. The project partners also visited Areal Research and Development Centre special unit at the University of Turku. Director of the center, Timo Halttunen, conducted a presentation about the 3M collaboration strategies at the center.
Georgian partners also attended workshops on the topics such as the third mission at the strategic level at the University of Turku, the university's cooperation with media industries and policymakers, and the experience and observations of the University of Turku in this regard.
The coordinator of the SQUARE project is Tbilisi State University. The project consortium is a group made up of 8 Georgian and 2 European universities together with Georgian Ministry of Education and Science and the National Center of Education Quality Enhancement.
The aim of the SQUARE project is to improve the quality and relevance of the third mission of universities. The project will help raise awareness about the third mission of the universities, increase the capacity of the university community to properly plan the activities of the third mission and evaluate their results.
