Third Report on Jean Monnet Module

On July 23, 2025, during the meeting of the Governing Board of the Caucasus University, the third-year implementation report (September 2024 – July 2025) of the Jean Monnet Module "Europeanization of Law Programs in Georgia" was presented. (The first- and second-year reports of the Module (2022–2023 and 2023–2024) were previously presented at the Governing Board meetings of Caucasus University held on September 8, 2023, and July 2, 2024, respectively.)

 

The third-year report of the Module was delivered by Professor Guranda Chelidze, Jean Monnet Professor at the Caucasus University. The report was prepared by the Module Coordinator and Jean Monnet Professor Eka Kardava.

 

As in previous years, the third-year report highlighted and summarized the following core activities:

 

  • Teaching of EU-related courses: A full course on the European Union delivered at the Master's level in Law, and a series of mini-lectures on the EU at the Bachelor's level – totaling 70 teaching hours, attended by 225 students in total.
  • Academic staff training: A 16-hour training program on How to Teach the EU, which was attended by 63 participants, exceeding the originally planned number of 19.
  • Participation in Erasmus+ promotional events: Experience-sharing on the implementation of the Module with other Georgian universities, within the framework of events organized under the auspices of the Erasmus+ National Office.
  • Publication of a teaching manual: How to Teach the EU.
  • Organization of a scientific conference: Research the EU in favor of Georgia, with 19 selected topics and active participation from professors and students representing various universities.
  • Publication of the Book of Abstracts of the scientific conference.
  • Issuance of electronic certificates for conference participants.
  • Analysis of student surveys.
  • Budget implementation.
  • Ongoing communication and dissemination activities.
  • Monitoring and reporting.

 

The third-year report of the Jean Monnet Module was reviewed by the Governing Board of Caucasus University, which comprises the University President, Vice Presidents, Deans of various schools, and heads of structural units (departments).
