ABOUT PROJECT

Within The Erasmus+ EU Competition project - VirtuallyEDU 2.0 - Virtual Exchanges for Ethical AI Literacy and Digital Citizenship has been funded. The project aims to empower young people, higher education students, educators, and youth workers from Europe and the Eastern Neighbourhood regions by developing ethical AI literacy, digital skills, critical thinking, and civic engagement capacities through innovative virtual exchange activities. The project will create an inclusive digital learning environment that connects participants across borders, promotes intercultural dialogue, and supports the development of digitally responsible and socially engaged citizens.

Project key objectives are the following:

Developing Ethical AI and Digital Literacy:

The project focuses on strengthening young people’s understanding of artificial intelligence, algorithmic awareness, digital rights, and ethical challenges in the digital environment. Through educational activities and training programs, participants will develop the skills required to navigate and actively shape the digital society.

Introduction of Innovative Teaching and Learning Approaches:

The project will introduce new methodologies for online education and virtual collaboration by combining digital learning tools, interactive approaches, and Virtual Exchange Labs. These activities will support educators, youth workers, and students in developing new competencies for inclusive and technology-enhanced learning environments.

Creating Educational Resources and Open Learning Materials:

The project will develop sustainable open-access educational materials, including training resources, digital learning content, and practical tools focused on AI literacy, digital citizenship, and youth empowerment. These resources will support long-term capacity building among educational institutions and youth organizations.

Promoting Youth Civic Engagement and Digital Advocacy:

VirtuallyEDU 2.0 aims to strengthen young people’s participation in democratic digital societies by developing their critical thinking, media literacy, and advocacy skills. Through youth-led activities and digital campaigns, participants will become active contributors to discussions around ethical technology use, digital rights, and online participation.

Virtual Exchange Labs and International Collaboration:

The project will implement innovative Virtual Exchange activities connecting young people, educators, and youth workers from EU Member States and Eastern Neighbourhood countries. Through online collaboration, participants will improve intercultural communication, digital competencies, and teamwork skills while engaging in cross-border learning experiences.

The project consortium consists of seven full partners from five countries, including two EU Member States (Sweden and Greece) and three third countries not associated to the Programme (Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova). The consortium brings together five higher education institutions and two youth organizations, combining expertise in digital education, youth engagement, international cooperation, and virtual exchange innovation.
