Manual “How to Teach the EU” 

 

Within the framework of Jean Monet Module "Europeanization of law programs in Georgia", the manual for lecturers "How to teach the European Union" was developed and published.

 

The authors of the textbook are Jean Monnet professors Ekaterine Kardava and Guranda Tchelidze.

 

The manual includes general but essential information about the European Union, search systems for EU sectoral policies and areas, definitions of terms frequently used in the study of the European Union, websites for EU law and EU judicial decisions, list of EU-Georgia agreements etc. At the same time, the guide lists some important sources (articles and books) that will help the professionals to better understand and get to know the EU, its law and sectoral policies.

Training Module

EU and Legal Europeanisation of Georgia”

 

In 2024, within the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet module "Europeanization of Law Programs in Georgia" (101084764 — EU-LP-GE), Caucasus University professors Ekaterine Kardava and Guranda Chelidze developed a special training module to strengthen the European studies in Georgia. The name of the training module is "EU and Legal Europeanization of Georgia".

 

The Training Module was developed for the Samtskhe-Javakheti State University for regional students and academic staff (based on Jean Monnet module), but it is appropriate to use it within any educational program, university/HEI and target group.

Participation in the JM Conference

BSU, Batumi, Georgia

 

The Jean Monnet International Conference “Democracy, Rule of Law, and Protection of Human Rights in the European Union” was held on September 29-30, 2023, in Batumi, Georgia. The conference was organized within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair project “Fundamental Values of the European Union: Democracy, Rule of Law and Protection of Human Rights”.

 

JM Module “EU-LP-GE professors Dr. Ekaterine KARDAVA and Dr. Guranda CHELIDZE participated In the conference and they presented the speech on Importance of Obligatory Nature of European Studies in the Policy of High Education of Georgia. The speech delivered at the conference, included the popularization of EU studies and dissemination of the JM Module “EU-LP-GE” goals, objectives and methods, as well as the challenges that Georgian HEIs face in the context of EU studies.

 

Professor and academia from more than 15 countries attended the Conference. This provided an opportunity for the participants of Jean Monet's Actions from different parts of the world to connect with each other and talk face-to-face.
