The U.S. Embassy in Georgia is pleased to announce the annual Fulbright competition for Georgian scholars for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is for junior and senior researchers, university lecturers and experts from academic institutions in Georgia. A selected candidate will be able to conduct post-doctoral research, lecture, or pursue combined lecturing and research in the United States during three to six months.
A candidate must currently be affiliated with one of the academic or research institutions in Georgia.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be citizens of Georgia
- Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in the field of research/lecturing or a Master’s degree from a European or U.S. university
- Applicants must be proficient in oral and written English
- Applicants must be eligible for a J-1 visa, which requires the grantee to return to Georgia for a minimum of two years at the end of the grant period
- Applicants must receive a satisfactory medical clearance before departure
Interested applicants who meet the criterias as outlined above should complete an online application and upload the following documents:
- Project statement of proposed activity for research or teaching in the U.S.
- Curriculum Vitae/Resume
- Letter of support from home institution
- Three letters of reference
- Bibliography – for Research or Teaching/Research proposals
- Course Syllabi – for Teaching or Teaching/Research proposals
- Letter of invitation from a preferred U.S. host institution (not required by the application deadline)
- Photocopy of doctoral degree or a Master’s degree from a European or U.S. university
- Copy of passport
The submission deadline for the online application is November 15, 2021, at 18:00 (local Georgian time).
