Koç University, Türkiye, announces the call for applications for the KU Postdoctoral Fellowship Program for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The program is designed for researchers working in various academic fields and aims to support both local and international researchers. As part of the program, fellows will have the opportunity to conduct research at Koç University in Istanbul and become part of the university’s academic and research environment.
The program includes:
- A monthly stipend of 95,000 Turkish Lira (net);
- A fixed-term contract;
- Health insurance, a meal card (Set Card), access to the university library and sports facilities, and a flexible childcare benefit;
- Access to modern research infrastructure and technical support;
- Support for national and international grant applications, as well as access to internal Seed Grants for high-risk, high-potential pilot projects;
- Opportunities to participate in scientific training sessions, seminars, and workshops;
- Opportunities to engage in publication, patenting, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer activities;
- Visa and relocation support for international applicants, where necessary.
Candidates must have:
- A PhD degree;
- Demonstrated research experience, publications, and references;
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills;
- Leadership and teamwork skills, as well as experience in both independent and collaborative research;
- A willingness to mentor and supervise Master’s and undergraduate-level researchers;
- High standards of professional ethics and research integrity.
Required application documents:
- A detailed CV, including a complete list of publications, Google Scholar and LinkedIn links, postdoctoral experience (if applicable), areas of expertise, technical/methodological skills, and a brief description of previous research projects;
- A PhD diploma or an official letter confirming that the degree will be awarded within six months;
- Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the applicant’s PhD supervisor;
- A project proposal submitted as a single PDF file, consisting of a project abstract (maximum 300 words) and a research plan (maximum 2 pages; font size 11; margins of at least 2 cm);
- A letter of support from a KU faculty member who will serve as the scientific supervisor (or co-supervisors from different departments), accompanied by a CV. The letter must include a mentoring and training plan (maximum 1 page) describing access to resources, professional development opportunities, and expectations regarding supervision. Supervisors must also confirm that they can provide the project with the necessary consumables, infrastructure, and expertise. Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact potential supervisors in advance to confirm the alignment of the proposed project and mutual interest;
- Where necessary, international applicants may request support with visa documentation and relocation.
The fellowship is expected to commence within a maximum of six months following the decision. The duration of the program is one to two years.
