The UNESCO Chair on Cultural Diplomacy, Governance and Education at Istanbul Aydın University, in collaboration with the STAR Scholars Network, invites students to participate in the “Peace and Diplomacy” Winter Program, which will take place in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 1 to 7 February 2027.
The program is a one-week intensive course combining lectures, interactive discussions, and cultural activities. It aims to provide participants with an opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary discussions on contemporary global challenges and deepen their knowledge of international relations, global governance, and cultural diplomacy.
Through intercultural workshops, participants will develop practical skills in conflict resolution, narrative building, and peace education, as well as receive practical training in Model United Nations (Model UN).
The program is open to students and young leaders with a professional interest in peace, diplomacy, and intercultural dialogue.
The program will cover the following topics:
- Education and Peace
- Intercultural Awareness and Communication
- Developing Intercultural Competencies
- Theories of International Relations
- Foreign Policy and Forms of Power
- Public and Cultural Diplomacy
The program also includes cultural activities.
Program Fee: USD 690
The fee includes:
- Accommodation;
- Meals, including daily breakfast;
- Lectures and courses;
- Workshops and seminars;
- Cultural tours during the final week;
- Networking opportunities;
- Certificate of attendance.
Please note that the program fee does not include:
- Airfare;
- Travel/health insurance (if purchased through the university, the cost is USD 30 for two weeks);
- Airport transfer (optional service — USD 50 one way);
- Additional daily cultural tours and activities, which cost approximately USD 10–30 per activity.
