General Assembly of the European University Association (EUA)

12 April 2025

On April 10-11, the General Assembly and Annual Conference of the European University Association were held in Riga, hosted by the University of Latvia.

On behalf of Caucasus University, the university’s Vice President, Irina Melua, participated in the General Assembly, while the conference was attended by Ketevan Karbaia, Director of the Department of International Relations, alongside her.

During the conference, panel discussions and seminars were held on important topics such as the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals into the educational process, opportunities for international cooperation, and other relevant issues.

It is noteworthy that the European University Association is the largest university network, uniting over 850 universities and national rector’s conferences from 49 European countries.

EUA contributes to the development of higher education policy and practices in Europe, focusing on quality assurance, internationalization, governance, and funding, as well as implementing transnational and institutional development projects.

As a full individual member of EUA, Caucasus University actively participates in the activities organized by the association, which helps improve the university’s internationalization process and strengthen international networks.

It is worth noting that, as part of the visit to Latvia, working visits were held at partner universities. Specifically, at the Stockholm School of Economics (Riga Campus), meetings were held with the university's rector, Anders Paalzow, and the manager of international programs, Marina Troškova. During the meetings, the parties discussed opportunities to deepen the existing cooperation. Additionally, a working meeting was held with the representatives of the International Relations Department of Riga's University of Economics, where the creation of exchange opportunities for undergraduate and master's students from the Media School was discussed, as well as the implementation of joint short-term projects.
