He delivered a speech on Building the Belt and Road: Connection, Innovation and Sustainable Development. In his report Dr. Shengelia discussed the significance of the Silk Road concept in terms of transportation, logistics and trading. He also analyzed the geopolitical importance of Georgia in the process, potential for investment and the efforts and projects of the Government of Georgia aimed at restoring the Silk Road.

Dr. Shengelia attended the conference in response to special invitations by the Fudan University and Shenzhen Municipal Government.

The conference was also attended by the officials of partner countries and representatives of state authorities, academic, business and international organizations, etc.
