A working meeting was held in Tbilisi, at the International Education Center, between members of the Permanent Conference of Rectors of Regional Universities; the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, as well as the Center's Executive Director Nunu Mickiewicz; and Hungary's Ambassador to Georgia, Anna Maria Shiko.
Dr. Kakha Shengelia, president of Caucasus University and member of the Permanent Conference of Rectors of Regional Universities attended the meeting.
The meeting's goal was to introduce regional university rectors to the Center's existing scholarship programs and to discuss future collaboration opportunities.
The meeting covered topics such as the importance of regional universities participating in the internationalization process; opportunities for regional university students to participate in scholarship programs; and the existing successful Georgian-Hungarian scholarship program Stipendium Hungaricum, which provides students with over 600 study courses in various languages and directions.
It should be noted that the "Stipendium Hungaricum" has been implemented in Georgia for the sixth year under the administration of the International Education Center, and over 300 students have continued their studies in the best Hungarian universities from 2017 to today.
The representatives of the regional universities, including the president of Caucasus University, expressed their willingness to actively participate in the scholarship programs and provide timely information to students about the current competitions, as well as host representatives of the International Education Center and the Hungarian Embassy in the format of scholarship information meetings.
