CSM Student Scientific Conference

30 May 2025

On May 30, the School of Media Student Scientific Conference was held at Caucasus University.

This internal conference is dedicated to developing students’ academic and research skills while promoting professional specialization.

The conference aims to highlight current trends in the School of Media and encourage students to engage in academic and scientific research activities.

Students from various educational programs of the School of Media took part in the conference, presenting their research in the field of modern media, communication and PR. Their work stood out for its thematic diversity, depth of analysis, and practical relevance.

The winners of the conference were:

First place – Diana Chagoshvili, senior of the Bachelor’s Program in PR and Communication

  • Topic: The Paradox of Fear: How the Outstanding Weapon of PR Becomes Its Greatest Weakness.

Her research examined how fear is used as an effective tool in PR and how, within the framework of modern communication strategies, this same tool can undermine PR’s effectiveness.

Second place – Sonia Anastasia Hulst and Lizi Chikhladze, juniors of the Bachelor’s program in PR and Communication

  • Topic: Determining the Effectiveness and Impact of Advertisements Covered in Traditional and Digital Media.

Their study analyzed how consumers perceive advertisements across various media platforms and how the medium influences the power and effectiveness of the message.

The conference once again demonstrates the contribution of the School of Media to the development of high academic standards and reflects the growing involvement of students in the critical analysis of modern media.
