Visit of Caucasus University representatives to Batumi, within the framework of the E-PSY project

On June 26-30, the dean of the Caucasus School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Davit Natroshvili, the head of the psychology bachelor’s degree program, associate professor Maia Machavariani-Tsereteli and the assistant professor of the psychology program Soso Dolidze participated in an international week, organized by the Erasmus+ CBHE institutional development project "Establishment of Psychological Counselling Centers at Georgian HEIs for Students (E-PSY)", held at Shota Rustaveli State University in Batumi.


Throughout the week, project participants created guidelines for individual and group counseling as well as professional ethical standards for psychologists working at the student psychological counseling center. Mechanisms of supervision and intervision were also established, and a consultant's professional development scheme was developed. Representatives of Georgian, Polish and Romanian universities, as well as the Tbilisi Mental Health Crisis Intervention Service participated in the workshops.


The purpose of the project is to establish student psychological counseling centers in Georgian higher education institutions, including Caucasus University, as well as to create official documents for decision-makers (Representatives of the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia) in order to raise public awareness about mental health and focus attention on the importance of psychological counseling of students in Georgian higher educational institutions.
