On July 6, in Vienna, Austria, International Conference of “International Association of University Presidents” (IAUP) on the topic "Innovations in Education" hosted by Caucasus University and Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences was officially opened. Simultaneously the other conference - Conference of Young Scientists on "Sustainable Development" is held.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Georgian government: Chair of the Parliamentary Committee of Education, Science and Culture Ms. Mariam Jashi, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Ms. Ketevan Natriashvili, Director of the National Center of Education Quality Enhancement Ms. Tamar Sanikidze and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Austria Mr. Konstantin Zaldastanishvili.

Among the conference participants were representatives of higher educational institutions of Georgia: Rector of Tbilisi State University, Mr. George Sharvashidze, Rector of Ilia State University, George Zedania, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University Mr. Zurab Vadachkoria and Vice-Rector Ms. Rima Berishvili, Rector of Tbilisi Technical University Mr. Archil Frangishvili and Vice-Rector Ms. Ketevan Kokrashvili, Rector of Akaki Tsereteli State University, Mr. George Ghavtadze, Rector of University of Georgia Mr. Constantine Topuria, Rector of the Black Sea University Mr. Ilias Chiloglu, Rector of the National University of Georgia Mr. Gia Kavtelishvili and Vice-Rector Mr. Giorgi Tskhvediani and Vice-Rector of Georgian Aviation University Mr. Davit Tepnadze.

In the Palace of Hofburg a stand – Study in Georgia – is introducing more than 400 conference participants from different higher educational institutions to Georgian Universities and giving them an opportunity to meet representatives of Georgian Universities and discuss their future plans with them.
