On November 26, licensee of The New York Time “Sakhe(l)ebi” Publishers held an awards ceremony. The traditional event was attended by the President of Georgia, the First Lady, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II and high-ranking officials of various Georgian companies, including Caucasus University. The participants were awarded symbolic prizes in different nominations.
It is the fifteenth time the traditional auction has been held to support an integrated project of the elderly people and homeless children.
The principal supporter of the project, Patriarchate of Georgia gave an allotment near Tbilisi in Okrokana to have a house for the elderly and homeless children built.
Out of 50 lots presented at the auction two were purchased by Caucasus University – a pen belonging to Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II with which a number of Christmas and Easter epistles have been written and a hand-made backgammon made by the President of Georgia and painted by the First Lady.
The purchased things will be displayed in the Museum of Caucasus University.
