Demo Day of Startup Pre-acceleration program CUnicorn

Caucasus University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center held the Demo Day of Startup Pre-acceleration program CUnicorn (Batch 3) at CU, which is the final event of the pre-acceleration program, where startup teams will present (pitch) their ideas to experts, investors, and potential partners and guests.

 

Over the past 10 weeks, 5 startup teams went through intensive mentorship sessions led by experienced local and international mentors and speakers and learned the basic principles of startup creation and development.

 

Irakli Svanidze – Manager of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center led the event. Keynote speakers: Kakha Shengelia -President of Caucasus University, Avtandil Kasradze - Chairman of Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency, Irena Melua - Vice President of Caucasus University for Internationalization addressed the delivered opening remarks.

 

Startups represented on Demo Day:

 

BioNova- Converts biomass into bioenergy, including biogas and electricity, offering an innovative solution to address energy needs in areas lacking access to traditional power sources.

Econshop -A platform that offers users comprehensive details on product pricing and available discounts.

Eventsmate - The platform connects event vendors with event organizers while streamlining event planning and saving valuable time in the process.

Lifekit - A platform streamlining the integration of newcomers in a foreign country by connecting them with local service providers.

Revup - A platform that eases and accelerates the search for reliable car services/technicians.

 

At the end of the event, the judges – Kakha Shengelia - President of Caucasus University, Avtandil Kasradze - Chairman of Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), Chris Burry - CEO of US Market Access Center (USMAC), Giorgi Razmadze, Head of MSME Underwriting Department at TBC Bank,  CEO of Oto Motors, Entrepreneur and CU alumni, Ilia Khurtsilava, announced the winner who were awarded prizes by CU, and the event supporters.

 

  • The winning startup, BioNova, was awarded a cash prize of 5,000 GEL by Caucasus University and event supporter TBC Startuper. Additionally, Clevertone, a supporter of the event, presented the winning team with a special prize that includes the production of an image video clip;
  • Moreover, Lifekit, pre-acceleration participant team, was selected as the chosen startup by the president of Caucasus University and received a prize of 2,000 GEL.
