28 September 2026

On 26 September, Caucasus University traditionally celebrated the European Day of Languages. The invited speaker, Besik Kutateladze, Full Professor at Florida International University, discussed the role and importance of language for professionals across various fields; access to academic knowledge for the internet generation; rethinking the role of education in effectively responding to contemporary challenges; and the use of artificial intelligence as a tool to support and enhance research.

The discussion was moderated by Professor Mariam Manjgaladze and Associate Professor Irakli Shamatava. The event was interactive, with numerous students actively participating in the discussion.

The European Day of Languages was established by the Council of Europe 25 years ago to promote linguistic diversity, intercultural dialogue, and language learning. This day reminds us that language is not only a means of communication but also a living expression of cultural identity, history, and worldview. Accordingly, Europe's strength and richness lie in its linguistic and cultural diversity.
