On April 17-19, the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) hosted the annual general assembly and conference of the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA).
Representing Caucasus University, the event was attended by President Kakha Shengelia, Vice-President for Internationalization Irena Melua, and Dean of the Caucasus School of Law Sofio Shengelia.
The theme of the conference was "The Future of Global Legal Education". Throughout the event, various panel discussions were held on crucial topics such as approaches and challenges in global legal education, values and skills, internationalization of legal education, and the role of ELFA in this process.
The General Assembly elected Jivko Draganovis, the rector of the Bulgarian University of National and World Economy (UNWE), as the new president of the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA). Additionally, the next year's budget was approved and discussions were held regarding the organization's future development, updates to the management board's composition.
It's worth mentioning that the Caucasus School of Law has been a member of the organization since 2008. The European Law Faculties Association is the sole organization that represents law faculties actively engaging in legal educational and training processes at the European level.
