With the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, in cooperation with the Basque Culinary Center and Caucasus University, Caucasus University Academy of Gastronomy will be opened in Gurjaani. Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education and Science, Joxe Mari Aizega, Director of the Basque Culinary Center, Davit Songhulashvili, Majoritarian MP of Gurjaani, Sighnaghi, Dedoplistskaro and Sagarejo and Dr. Kakha Shengelia, President of Caucasus University, addressed the audience and talked about the importance of this project.
Within the framework of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Basque Culinary Center and Caucasus University, which envisages the development of joint programs. Caucasus University Academy of Gastronomy will accept its first students in 2024. It will be a professional school of the highest standards based on international cooperation and public-private partnership in Gurjaani. The Academy will offer Georgian citizens vocational education programs of international standard, where foreign students will study together with Georgian youths.
Caucasus University Academy of Gastronomy will significantly contribute to the development of gastronomic tourism in the country and raise awareness of Georgian cuisine around the world, in addition, it will make a significant contribution to the economic development of the Kakheti region and Georgia in general. It should be noted that the Basque Culinary Center is one of the best gastronomic schools in the world. The programs at the training center are implemented by the world's leading specialists. Students from different countries receive their education at the center and successfully work in the global arena in the field of gastronomy after graduation.
