Visit of the Caucasus University representatives in Bydgoszcz, Poland, within the Framework of the E-PSY Project

On May 24-27, within the framework of the Erasmus + Institutional Development Project “Establishment of Psychological Counselling Centers at Georgian HEIs for Students (E-PSY)”, the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz (Poland), hosted representatives of partner universities in Bydgoszcz.

 

From Caucasus University, Associate Professor of Caucasus School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Natia Panjikidze, invited lecturer Liana Barabadze, and International Projects Manager Mariam Sirabidze attended the meetings, as well as the representatives of other Georgian higher educational institutions and organizations. 

 

During the meetings, representatives of Georgian Universities visited the Academic Medical Center and Social Services Center of the University of Economy. Participants also got acquainted with psychological support at the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz and attended the workshops about Accessibility and Universal Design in higher education (use of simulations; social and psychological dimensions). Representatives of the University of Economy presented to Georgian colleagues’ methods of psychological support available at their university, various types of sensory rooms, and the principles of their work.

 

The main aim of the given project is the establishment of psychological counseling centers at higher education institutions (HEIs) in Georgia and the development of official/legal documentation for policymakers (representatives of the Georgian government, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia (MESCS)) to raise mental health awareness and point out the importance of the provision of psychological counseling to students at Georgian HEIs.
