Meeting of Caucasus School of Law Students with the Legal Aid Service

14 November 2025

On 13 November, the Director of the Legal Aid Service, Mr. Davit Simonia, met with students of Caucasus University to introduce them to Georgia’s free legal aid system.

During the meeting, he provided detailed information about the structure and services of the Legal Aid Service, the role and responsibilities of public defenders, and the specific nature of their professional activities.

The second part of the session focused on the presentation of the “Paralegals” project. This initiative, implemented by the Legal Aid Service, aims to train future lawyers as well as individuals from non-legal backgrounds in key legal issues. Trained paralegals will be able to offer primary legal consultations to the public and participate in various informational campaigns.

The Office has been successfully implementing this project for several years. Students demonstrated strong interest in the initiative and expressed their willingness to become involved.
