Meeting with writer and translator Giorgi Kharaishvili

On March 11, at the initiative of Associate Professor Tamar Lomadze from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, students of the English Philology program met with writer and translator Giorgi Kharaishvili.

 

During the meeting, Giorgi Kharaishvili spoke to the students about his recent translation of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “The Fall of the House of Usher.”

 

He discussed in detail the challenges encountered in translating foreign literary works into Georgian and presented artistic approaches to overcoming them.

 

The meeting was held in an interactive format, giving students the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical advice from the translator.
