Presentation of Jean Monnet Chair "European Union for Peace, Prosperity and Security" (EU-PPS)

On 14 October, the presentation of the Jean Monnet Chair “European Union for Peace, Prosperity and Security” (EU-PPS) took place at Caucasus University as part of the Erasmus Days. The Chair was selected as the winner of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet 2024 competition.

 

The presentation was attended by the head of the Erasmus+ national office, representatives of the Caucasus University administration, professors and lecturers from Caucasus University and other universities, students and graduates of European Studies bachelor and EIGER  master program.

 

Professor of the Chair and Professor of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Guranda Chelidze, presented the goals and objectives of the Chair, as well as the educational and research activities planned within the framework of the Chair. Chair team members Prof. E. Kardava and Prof Radu Carp  spoke about the importance of the Chair on the path of Georgia's European integration.

 

Mariam Sulashvili, Head of the Erasmus+ National Office, Akaki Kapanadze, Director of the Project Management Department of Caucasus University, David Natroshvili, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Marina Muskhelishvili, Professor of the EIGER Master Programme discussed the participation of Caucasus University in the Erasmus+ programmes, the necessity of reinforcing European education in the wake of Georgia's designation as a candidate country was underscored.  Special attention was paid to the high quality of the projects submitted from Georgia.  At the conclusion of the event, the project team engaged in a question-and-answer session.
