The 2022 regional meeting of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) was held on September 29 in Bucaramanga, Colombia, for the first time in a non-remote mode. The main topic of the meeting was: "Recovery and Transformation: New Challenges for Higher Education Leaders". It should be noted that the regional meeting was hosted by Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (UNAB).

Dr. Kakha Shengelia, Chairman of the IAUP Board of Directors and President of the Caucasus University, took part in the meeting.

During the sessions, higher education leaders from around the world discussed current issues at the international level, which further help leaders develop and execute future plans and visions.

Also, within the framework of the event, panel sessions were held on current issues surrounding the field. Caucasus University President Dr. Kakha Shengelia led the third consecutive panel session on the topic - How Presidents should understand and lead digital transformation: Decisions, phases and best practices.

After the end of the official part, the participating parties had the opportunity to continue the meeting in an informal environment.

It should be noted that within the framework of the 2022 IAUP Regional Meeting, on September 28, the Board of Directors Meeting of the "International Association of University Presidents" (IAUP) was also held.

It should be noted that in 2022, the Colombian city of Bucaramanga will celebrate its 400th anniversary, and Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (UNAB) will celebrate its 70th anniversary.
