In July 2024, the three-year project of the Caucasus University School of Governance "Teaching European Ideologies and Values in Georgia" won the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet module competition.

The author of the project is Giorgi Tskhadaia, professor at School of Public Governance of the Caucasus University.

The aim of the project is to teach and research the ideologies and values of European parties in Georgia.  Students of the bachelor’s Programs in Diplomacy and International Relations and Public Administration at Caucasus School of Governance will have the opportunity to take courses prepared by the author of the project.

Within the framework of the project, syllabi will be developed for both Georgian-language and English-language bachelor’s programs of School of Governance.

In addition to the development and teaching of training courses, the project envisages holding a summer seminar and conference on the ideologies and values ​​of European parties. Also, within the framework of the project, research will be conducted on the given topic and will be prepared for publication in an academic journal.

The innovation of the curriculum of the bachelor’s courses and the summer seminar is that it combines three different aspects of the study of European ideologies.

First, special emphasis will be placed on the role that European parties play in EU politics. Second, the national origins of the main political parties will be discussed and the diversity of ideas and values ​​across EU member states will be highlighted. Third, common ideological principles and values ​​at the European level will be discussed and analyzed.
