Dean of the School of Public Administration in the final conference of the EU project "Support to Public Governance Reform in Georgia"

On September 29, the Dean of the School of Public Administration and President of NISPAcee, Eka Akobia, participated in the final conference of the EU project "Support to Public Governance Reform in Georgia" organized by the EU Delegation and Government Administration in Georgia.

 

The contribution of the project to the implementation of Public Administration Reform (PAR) in Georgia was summarized, as well as the future agenda of PAR and current topics were discussed.

 

The event was opened by the head of the OECD SIGMA program, Mr. Gregory Virant, who spoke on the topic "Public Administration Reform (PAR) in the context of EU enlargement - the experience of candidate countries".

 

Notably, the public administration reform in the Eastern Partnership countries of the European Union, including Georgia, significantly relies on the public administration principles framework document developed by SIGMA, while the EaP countries receive significant expert assistance from the project in the process of national public administration reform in accordance with European public administration principles.

 

Eka Akobia took part in the panel discussion "What is planned within the framework of public administration reform?" and spoke about the special importance of public administration reform for the country's EU integration agenda and the strengthening of necessary steps and resources in this direction.
