On May 28, the “Valeri Telia Caucasus University Backgammon Championship” was held at Caucasus University.

Caucasus University President Kakha Shengelia delivered a speech at the championship.

Around 100 Caucasus University students and employees participated in the games.

After some intense matches, the winners were awarded by Valeri Telia’s family members.

The winners were distributed as follows:

• I place - Mamuka Kvartskhava;
• II place - Akaki Manjavidze (Caucasia University School of Law);
• III place - Tato Bibileishvili.

The winner was awarded the championship’s backgammon and a transitional cup.

All three winners were awarded vouchers from the CU bookstore “Librarea”, branded items from Caucasus University, and gifts from the championship sponsors - bag and accessories brand “COSMO” and the publishing house “Intelekti”.

The championship sponsor, the Georgian Sport Backgammon Federation, held a quiz within the tournament. The winner of the quiz, Misha Baramidze, received a special gift.
