On May 22, organized by the International Research Center for Georgian Studies at Caucasus University, a roundtable discussion was held on "Culture, Power, and Political Narrative in the Post-Soviet Context."
The invited speakers presented the following topics:
- Philip Ross Bullock (Oxford University) - "Edward Beneš. The Problem of Small Nations in The European Crisis: Sentential Reflections";
- Peter J. Schmelz (Johns Hopkins University) - "The True End of the Cold War: The Politics of Art, Exchange, Remembering, and Forgetting";
- Maia Sigua (Tbilisi State Conservatoire) - Soft Power, Opera and Popular Narratives;
- Nana Sharikadze ( Caucasus University ) - Cultural Front-lines: Gergiev in post war Tskhinvali;
- Tsotne Tchanturia (Caucasus University) - "Nostalgia and Historical Ties: Elements of Russia’s Soft Power in Georgia".
