Leaders of the method of financing with diagnosis-related group (DRG), medical economic standards were introduced in Georgia in 1996 as a result of ongoing reforms in the healthcare system. The paper discusses the experience of introducing medical economic standards as a cost-effective method of hospital financing in Georgia.
