Competition for the Creation of Modern Electronic Georgian-Language Public Administration Publications

Caucasus University announces a competition for the creation of modern electronic Georgian-language public administration publications.

 

This initiative is part of the USAID public administration program's grant-winning project, "Enhancing Public Administration Degree Programs at the Caucasus School of Governance".

 

The project will result in the development of seven electronic academic publications, also known as extended syllabi, aimed at enhancing the teaching of strategic directions in Georgian public administration.

 

An authors' competition has been announced to create publications on seven themes:

 

  • Public Administration: Theory and Models
  • Policy Planning and Coordination
  • Anti-corruption Mechanisms in the Public Sector, Accountability, and Ethics
  • Management of Public Services
  • Public Finance Management
  • Digital Governance
  • Public Administration Research Methods

 

Each textbook should cover 12 topics corresponding to the lecture course's subject. Each electronic publication must review the literature (books and articles) by internationally recognized authors in the field of public governance and administration relevant to the selected theme. It should outline key contemporary concepts, models, and theories related to the topic and adapt international academic literature to the local context of public governance and administration.

 

Qualification requirements for the author:

 

  • Doctoral degree in public administration or related field of social science, OR Master's degree and practical work experience in relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching courses related to the chosen topic.
  • Publications related to the selected themes.
  • A list of 12 topics for the electronic textbook.
  • Bibliography related to the chosen theme.

 

Deadline for submission of documents: July 15.

Competition Stages:

 

  • First Stage: Selection of documents by the competition commission; Notification of selected candidates by July 19.
  • Second Stage: Interview with the competition commission scheduled for July 22-25.

 

Deadlines:

 

  • Submission of full working version: October 15 (feedback from project team).
  • Presentation of the final version: December 15.
  • Signing of the labor contract by December.

 

Technical and academic requirements of the electronic textbook:

 

  • Electronic textbook (12 lecture topics, each min. 10 pages, single-spaced, Sylfaen font, size 12, normal margins);
  • The textbook must meet the standards of academic integrity of Caucasus University. Each lecture topic should have a marginal note and a bibliography of the used literature;
  • Diagrams, tables, images/visual material must be verified with full copyright protection, citing sources.
