On December 28, Caucasus School of Governance held the defense of Nino Lomidze’s PHD thesis. Mrs. Lomidze is a students of International Relations PHD program at the Caucasus School of Governance. The PHD candidate presented her thesis on “Radicalization of Islam and the Threat of Religious Extremism in Georgia (1991-2001)”. Academic supervisor, Professor Dr. Sergi Kapanadze.
The defense of the thesis was attended by the members of the Dissertation Commission:
Emir Eteria- Professor of the Caucasus School of Governance (Chair of the defense commission);
Eka Akobia- Professor, Dean of the Caucasus School of Governance;
Giorgi Muchaidze- Associate professor of the Caucasus School of Governance;
Zurab Davitashvili-Professor of Ivane Janakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Invited member of the Commission;
Konstantine Shubitidze- Associate professor of Ivane Janakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Invited member of the Commission;
Giorgi Tskhadaia- Associate professor of the Caucasus School of Governance (Seretary of the defense commission).
The PHD candidate presented her thesis and answered the questions of the commission and audience. Reviewers of the thesis Giorgi Gvalia, Professor of Ilia State University and Zurab Batiashvili, Professor of the University of Georgia, presented their own evaluation of the thesis, which was followed up by the scientific discussion.
According to the evaluation of the dissertation defense commission, Nino Lomidze successfully defended her thesis and was awarded a degree of Doctor of International Relations.
